Poe Dameron, often recognized by his orange flight suit, is a skilled pilot and commander in the Resistance, a military force opposing the First Order. He's a core character in the Star Wars sequel trilogy (Episodes VII-IX).

Born on Yavin 4, Poe inherited his parents' dedication to the Rebellion (later the New Republic). His mother, Shara Bey, was a pilot, and his father, Kes Dameron, served as a soldier. This upbringing instilled in him a strong sense of justice and a natural aptitude for flying.

Initially a pilot in the New Republic Starfleet, Poe grew disillusioned with the Republic's complacency and joined the Resistance, led by General Leia Organa. He quickly rose through the ranks, becoming a trusted commander due to his exceptional piloting skills and strategic thinking.
